As Euphoria is gearing up to give us their third and final season, HBO has teased fans by dropping first-look images of their key cast, who are now all grown-up and settling into pre-adulthood.
With the new season slated for April 2026, the new photos of the characters in season 3 feature them as young adults, as the story progresses five years after the events of season 2. Recently Sam Levinson, the series' creator, shared the whatabouts and whereabouts of the main characters in the upcoming season, led by Zendaya's Rue, and the photos have now come as visual cues.
As described by Levinson as “trying to come up with some very innovative ways to pay it off”, Rue will be seen at Mexico’s border towards the South, in debt to drug dealer Laurie (Martha Kelly). In the first-look poster, Rue is seen sitting in an auditorium, deep in thought.
Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) and Nate (Jacob Elordi) got their own individual images, with the former holding an ice cream, while the latter is seen chopping meat. In the upcoming season, they will be engaged and eventually married. But Cassie, as per Levinson, will find herself "very addicted to social media and envious of what appear to be the big lives that all of her high school classmates are living at this point in time." The caption to Cassie's post reads, "She has n̶e̶v̶e̶r̶ ̶e̶v̶e̶r̶ been happier," while that of Nate reads, "Do you trust yourself?"
With a painting in the background, Jules' (Hunter Schafer) life in art school is apparent. But as Levinson revealed earlier, she is “very nervous about having a career as a painter and trying to avoid responsibility at all costs." Alexa Demi's character Maddie is juggling her job at a Hollywood talent agency with her own side projects, while Maude Apatow's character Lexi works as an assistant to a showrunner portrayed by new cast member Sharon Stone.
Danielle Deadwyler, Eli Roth, Natasha Lyonne, Rosalía, Marshawn Lynch, Sam Trammell and Asante Blackk are among those who have joined the cast this season. Eric Dane, Chloe Cherry, Dominic Fike, Nika King and Colman Domingo are set to reprise their roles, while Storm Reid, Austin Abrams and Javon Walton are no longer a part.
The final season of Euphoria is coming up more than four years after the second season had its premiere on HBO.
