The mysteries of Paradise are far from over. The hit post-apocalyptic thriller from This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman is officially returning for Season 2 on February 23. The new chapter will launch with three episodes, followed by weekly instalments on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+, as revealed during the show’s CCXP panel in Brazil.

A newly released teaser offers the first glimpse of where the story is headed and confirms that Sterling K Brown’s Xavier Collins makes it out of the subterranean city that defined Season 1. Believing his wife Teri (Enuka Okuma) may still be alive after years of assuming she died on “The Day”, Xavier ventures to the surface on a desperate search, encountering a dangerous world that has continued to evolve while the bunker dwellers remained sealed below.

The footage also marks the return of James Marsden as former U.S. President Cal Bradford, along with a brief tease of Jon Beavers’ Billy. Newcomer Shailene Woodley joins the cast in an undisclosed role. But it’s the show’s chilling antagonist, Sinatra (Julianne Nicholson), who delivers the trailer’s biggest reveal, declaring, “It was never just about the bunker.”

Season 2 promises to explore both Xavier’s perilous journey and the unravelling society he left behind. According to the official synopsis, “Xavier searches for Teri out in the world and learns how people survived the three years since The Day. Back in Paradise, the social fabric frays as the bunker deals with the aftermath of season one, and new secrets are uncovered about the city’s origins.”
