As Gilmore Girls approaches its 25th anniversary this October, a new documentary titled Searching for Stars Hollow is set to take fans back to the quirky Connecticut town that became a cultural touchstone.
Produced by Ink On Paper Studios, the project will spotlight the show’s impact on American pop culture, weaving in behind-the-scenes stories from writers, directors, and crew members, as well as never-before-seen interviews with the cast.
Among those appearing are Kelly Bishop (Emily Gilmore), Jared Padalecki (Dean Forester), and Chad Michael Murray (Tristin Dugray). They’ll be joined by Keiko Agena (Lane Kim), Sally Struthers (Babette Dell), Liz Torres (Miss Patty), Emily Kuroda (Mrs. Kim), Rose Abdoo (Gipsy), Kathleen Wilhoite (Liz Danes), Matt Jones (Morgan), Grant Lee Phillips (Stars Hollow’s troubadour), director Jamie Babbit, writer-producer Stan Zimmerman, and casting directors Jami Rudofsky and Mara Casey. Kevin T Porter, co-host of the Gilmore Guys podcast, will also be featured.
The beloved series, created by Amy Sherman-Palladino, originally aired from 2000 to 2007 across seven seasons. It chronicled the witty, fast-talking bond between single mother Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham) and her daughter Rory (Alexis Bledel), set against the eccentric charm of Stars Hollow. The show’s ensemble also included Melissa McCarthy, Scott Patterson, Sean Gunn, and the late Edward Herrmann.
The documentary is being co-directed by Meghna Balakumar and Kevin Konrad Hanna, with Adam F Goldberg serving as executive producer and Jim Demonakos producing.
