Chad Michael Murray is fully embracing his Christmas spirit, and he has a dream collaborator in mind—Lindsay Lohan. With his festive Netflix film The Merry Gentlemen premiering around the same time as Lohan’s holiday movie Our Little Secret, the One Tree Hill actor expressed interest in teaming up with Lohan for a Christmas project.
“If we had the opportunity, it’d be great,” Murray told People about reuniting with Lohan for a future holiday movie. Reflecting on their recent work together on Freakier Friday, he added, “For us to be able to come back together at this time where we just got done filming a movie, and now here we are both celebrating two Christmas movies at the same place, with Netflix, and they’re a week or two away from each other, is pretty cool.”
The Freaky Friday sequel, set to release on August 8, reunites Murray and Lohan as Jake and Anna, alongside Jamie Lee Curtis as Tess. The film will explore how their lives have evolved 20 years after the original, with Anna navigating her new role as a mom and stepmom. “We were kind of all over the place when we were doing Freaky Friday 2,” Murray said. “To sit down and do something where it was just her and I carrying the world... it would be a really beautiful thing.”
Murray also cherished reconnecting with Lohan during the sequel’s production. “Even though we’ve been in and out [of] each other’s lives, we’ve still known each other 20-something years,” he shared. “To watch growth, and to see her with her little boy, and meet her husband... it’s really special. There’s something very full circle about all these moments.”
