Gal Gadot is speaking candidly about her experiences on Disney’s Snow White and the backlash that surrounded its release. Appearing on Israeli talk show The A Talks, Gadot addressed both professional disappointments and personal challenges.
“I really enjoyed filming that movie; I really had fun,” she said of Snow White. “Even working alongside Rachel Zegler. We laughed and we talked; we had fun. I was positive the movie was going to be a huge hit. And then Oct. 7 happened, and what happened all over in different industries, not just Hollywood, was that there was a lot of pressure put on celebrities, actors, and creators to post against Israel. And it happened. I can always explain and try to give people in the world context about the situation and the reality in Israel, and I always do that. But at the end, people make up their own minds. And I was disappointed that the movie was incredibly affected by all of that and that it didn’t do well at the box office. But it is what it is; you win some, you lose some.”
The wide-ranging interview also touched on her career and health. She revisited her emergency brain surgery in March 2024, her star-making turn in Wonder Woman, where, she revealed, "Chris Pine got paid more than me, and I was Wonder Woman!", and her least favourite job in Hollywood. “I hated filming Entourage; I didn’t have fun at all,” Gadot said. “Some guy was inappropriate with me on set until it reached a point where I quit in the middle, left the set and never went back to film with them.”
When asked whether she considers herself a strong actress, she gave a modest but determined answer: “I think I’m solid; I’m alright. There are those who are more talented than me. But if you cast me, you cast well. Because my biggest strength is that I am not afraid to work hard and that I never let anything stand in my way. I just go, go, go.”
Gadot has currently completed filming for both The Runner and In the Hand of Dante. An action thriller, The Runner is directed by Kevin Macdonald and written by Mark Gibson, with Gadot starring alongside Damian Lewis. Meanwhile, in the latter she co-stars with a cast lead by Oscar Isaac and comprising Jason Momoa, Gerard Butler, Sabrina Impacciatore, Franco Nero, John Malkovich, Louis Cancelmi, Fortunato Cerlino, Lorenzo Zurzolo, Benjamin Clementine, Martin Scorsese and Al Pacino. Also coming up for Gadot is Ruin.
