Idris Elba reacts to Keanu Reeves being cast in Sonic The Hedgehog 3
Earlier this April, we reported that Keanu Reeves has joined the voice cast of director Jeff Fowler's Sonic The Hedgehog 3 and that he would lend his voice to a character named Shadow. Now, Idris Elba has responded to the news of Reeves being cast in the Sonic The Hedgehog sequel. Elba told IGN that he is "a big fan of Keanu Reeves," that he has heard of Reeves' admiration for his work, and that they are "destined to make something together."
Elba was attending the premiere of Knuckles, the series on Paramount+ where he voices for Knuckles the Echidna. Knuckles serves as a prequel to Sonic The Hedgehog 3, where also Elba voices the character. Reeves and Elba are reuniting for Sonic The Hedgehog 3 after voicing for their Cyberpunk 2077 characters.
Shadow is an anthropomorphic hedgehog that the government made and that resembles Sonic's capabilities, and the hedgehog first appeared in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 mid credits.
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is scheduled for a December 20 release.
