Prabhas' Saaho teaser is out and here's the complete breakdown

The teaser of Prabhas' highly-anticipated Saaho, which has been in the making for about two years now, has finally been launched, and it doesn't disappoint. Right from the get go, the teaser keeps us hooked. We open to a lavish carnival-like setup and Shraddha Kappoor's eyes looking up at a tall doll. She then climbs up steps of a fairytale like setting. With the background keys hinting at romance, Shraddha talks about her loneliness and how she doesn't have someone to share her happiness or sadness. And right on cue we get Prabhas stepping in, taking charge and letting her know he will be there for her.

With the romance angle established, we now swiftly move to what was originally promised us — an international spy thriller. The shots are gorgeous. The naming conventions are simple — there is a board that just says 'Hospital. In a fast edit, we see Shraddha kidnapped, blindfolded, and Prabhas, probably while he is rescuing her, shot at while jumping into a pool of water. Perhaps this will be the interval block?

Then we move on to a hand-to-hand fight in what looks like Mumbai (there is a street sign that says Nariman Point), then another shot of what looks like London, and a clay shooting, probably by the villains. Jackie Shroff with a full-face white beard is introduced as he seemingly attempts to parley. Neil Nitin Mukesh is shown fleetingly, but it is Arun Vijay and his cohort, consisting of Mandira Bedi, that instantly makes you think that he is probably one of, if not the primary, antagonist(s) of the movie.

We then move on to gun fight scenes in an international bank with a team lead by Shraddha (she is a cop) which probably leads to an underground lair filled with top gangsters of the world decked in shiny jewellery and shinier suits. Helicopter and truck scenes dominate and both of them appear to be largely centered in Mumbai and Europe, respectively. There is also a police chase scene in the sands of the UAE. But as different weaponry — shuriken, machine guns, axe and even JCB — are introduced, we are suddenly surpsied by... a tank! 

Of course the teaser ends with a synchronised shootout of Shraddha and Prabhas against unknown assailants, and them having a conversation in the middle of fighting, when Prabhas' cheekily acknowledges his fans as 'die-hard' in nature. It also appears to be a nod to the Bruce Willis film given the tight space they are in. The money shots however are the monster truck going upside down as in The Dark Knight, and Prabhas flexing his muscles as he gets ready for a one-on-one fight.

The high quality production value is evident in the teaser and this only ups the anticipation for Saaho, which hits the screens this Independence Day.
