The production house Mythri Movie Makers is one of the biggest names in Telugu cinema. Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar produce films under the banner. The production label has also backed some notable projects in Tamil cinema, including Ajith Kumar's Good Bad Ugly, Pradeep Ranganathan's Dude, and Rishikanth's Modha Rathri. All three films tasted success at the box office as well. On Friday, Mythri Movie Makers announced that it is set to join forces with Lokesh Kanagaraj's G Squad banner.
"Announcing the most exciting collaboration to bring together fresh energy and powerful stories," the banner wrote. The producer is yet to offer further information about its collaboration with Lokesh Kanagaraj's banner. "Updates coming soon," it wrote, keeping audiences waiting to know what the announcement is all about.
It is not clear whether the collaboration concerns one or multiple titles, like as part of a multi-film deal. It is also not known whether the collaboration will include Lokesh as a director and/or as an actor, and whether it concerns a Tamil and/or Telugu film.
Recently, Lokesh made his debut as a lead actor with a role in director Arun Matheswaran's DC after appearing in multiple films in brief roles. Backed by Kalanithi Maran's Sun Pictures banner, DC became a commercial success. In fact, the film's performance at the box office even made Kalanithi Maran present BMW cars to its director Arun Matheswaran, composer Anirudh, and lead actor Lokesh.
As it pertains to Telugu cinema, Lokesh is attached to direct Allu Arjun in an upcoming film. Tentatively titled AA23, the upcoming film is expected to feature Allu Arjun in a never-seen-before avatar. With Mythri Movie Makers attached to it as the producer, the film would mark Lokesh's debut as a director in Telugu cinema.
