On Monday, its producer Mythri Movie Makers announced that the film has earned more than 250 crore from theatres worldwide. Making the announcement, the producer wrote in the caption, "#Irumudi grosses a HISTORIC 250 CRORES+ WORLDWIDE. A film that touched generations. A story that united the audience. A celebration that lives beyond the screen. #Irumudi becomes a historic chapter in cinema." The banner also described it as "MASS MAHARAJA Ravi Teja's box office rampage."
Produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar under the banner of Mythri Movie Makers, it has become the highest-grossing film in Ravi Teja's career. It has also ended a string of box office failures for the actor. Remarkably, the latest Irumudi box office collection achievement comes over three decades after Ravi Teja made his acting debut. He made several uncredited appearances in the early 1990s, before making his debut as a lead actor with 1999's Nee Kosam.
The film has been receiving positive feedback ever since its recent release on Netflix as well. According to Mythri Movie Makers, it is trending on the first position on the streaming platform. Also available with dubs in Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi on the streamer, the film sees Ravi Teja starring alongside Sai Kumar, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Ramesh Indira, Swasika, Nakshatra CM, Ajay Ghosh, Komaram, and Sam.
It tells the story of a father (Ravi Teja) who takes on a spiritual practice following his daughter's (Nakshathra) plea, testing the lengths to which her father is ready to go for his faith and family.
