Manchu Manoj is playing a raw and rustic role in the period drama David Reddy, which is currently under production. The film is an action drama produced by Venkat Reddy Nallagangula and Bharat Motukuri under the banners of Velvet Soul Motion Pictures and True Radix. It is directed by debutant Hanuma Reddy Yakkanti. Manoj will be seen in a completely different avatar in the film, which is set in the pre-Independence era.
Set against the backdrop of the British era, David Reddy is being mounted as a grand Pan-India film with an intense action-driven storyline. Maria Ryaboshapka is playing the female lead, while the film is being made simultaneously in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada. Versatile actress Ramya Krishnan is playing a pivotal role in the movie.
On the occasion of Ramya Krishnan’s birthday on Tuesday, the makers of David Reddy unveiled a special birthday poster, extending their wishes to the senior actress. Ramya Krishnan will be seen as Kamala Reddy in the film. In the striking poster, she is seen seated on her throne with a fierce expression, holding a sword after taking down her enemies. Her powerful look has already created interest in the character, which is expected to be one of the memorable roles in Ramya Krishnan’s career.
Apart from the lead pair and Ramya Krishnan, actors including Samuthirakani and Kanchana are playing key roles. The makers have earlier unveiled a few looks of Manoj and promotional videos, which have garnered attention.
With a strong cast, a period backdrop and an intense action story, David Reddy is one of the interesting projects in Manchu Manoj’s upcoming lineup.
