Actor Ram Pothineni is all set to make his directorial debut with the upcoming film, tentatively titled RAPO23. The shooting is currently underway, and on Friday, the makers announced a major update about the film. Samyuktha is playing the female lead in it; the makers officially announced her inclusion on the occasion of her birthday.
Interestingly, Ram is not only acting and directing the film but is also its story writer. His brother Krishna Pothineni is producing the film under their Rapo Cinematic banner. The shoot is currently progressing in Hyderabad, where Ram is filming some important scenes as part of the ongoing schedule.
Ever since Ram announced the film and revealed that he would be directing it, the project has generated curiosity among audiences. The makers had earlier announced that Thirunavukarasu is handling the cinematography, while Sam CS is composing the music. Sam is particularly known for his background scores, and his presence could be a good fit for this film, which is said to be an action thriller with a heist backdrop.
Meanwhile, Samyuktha is busy with multiple projects. She has completed shooting for Slum Dog: 33 Temple Road, directed by Puri Jagannadh. Vijay Sethupathi is playing the lead role in Slum Dog, while Tabu is also part of the cast in a key role.
Another film Samyuktha is working on is The Black Gold, directed by Yogi KMC. The film is a female-centric project with Samyuktha playing the lead role as a strict police officer. The story revolves around an illegal coal mining syndicate operating along the Telangana-Maharashtra border, with Samyuktha’s character taking on the network and attempting to stop the illegal activities. She has undergone martial arts and combat training for the role, as she wants to perform her own stunts in the film.
Samyuktha’s other film, Swayambhu, is a period drama that is currently awaiting release. She is playing one of the female leads and underwent horse-riding training for the role.
Apart from her Telugu projects, Samyuktha is busy with films in Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam as well. With several interesting projects in different languages, she has emerged as one of the most sought-after actresses in South Indian cinema.
