Sree Harsha Konuganti is back with the sequel to Husharu (2018), which was a successful film. The teaser of Husharu 2 was unveiled recently, and interestingly, popular actor, director and producer R Narayana Murthy plays an important role in it. Generally, R Narayana Murthy has appeared in his own films, which he has always made around social issues and revolutionary subjects.
Now, he is playing a key role in Husharu 2, which is essentially a youthful entertainer. Harsha Konuganti is bringing a fresh adventure that takes the gang from ambitious business plans to the unpredictable heartland of Chittragunj. The teaser captures their escalating predicament as the pursuit of a tequila dream leads to unexpected complications, a forest-bound escape and a final reveal that adds a prestigious surprise to the sequel.
Determined to rebuild their lives after losing everything during the COVID period, the five friends head to Chittragunj in pursuit of a fresh beginning. But their plans soon run into trouble, turning an entrepreneurial expedition into an increasingly chaotic adventure. The teaser follows the gang as they navigate their predicament, with their journey taking an unexpected turn into the surrounding forest. Rather than revealing the full chain of events, the glimpse offers just enough to establish the sequel’s irreverent humour, adventurous spirit and unpredictable setting.
Saving its biggest surprise for the closing moments, the teaser introduces veteran actor and filmmaker R Narayana Murthy. Known for his work as an actor and director, his appearance in Husharu 2 marks his first outing in a film directed by another filmmaker, making it a landmark addition to the project. The unexpected reveal gives the teaser a distinctive talking point while leaving audiences curious about his role in the boys’ unfolding adventure.
“When people ask how Sri Harsha garu convinced me, what is there to convince? He gave me a great role. As much as he made you laugh in Husharu 1, he will make you think just as much in Husharu 2,” said R Narayana Murthy about his role at the teaser launch event. He added that the film touches upon the burning issue of unemployment and how the freedom and rights of today's youth are being affected. “My character stands by these young boys as a friend and mentor while they try to build something meaningful for society. A film that makes you think while making you laugh will definitely be embraced by the audience. Sri Harsha garu is a director who works without compromise until a shot is 100% complete. I request everyone to promote Husharu 2 grandly,” said Narayana Murthy.
Written and directed by Sree Harsha Konuganti, who also helmed the 2018 original, Husharu 2 features an ensemble cast comprising Rahul Ramakrishna, Ashok Galla, Ravi Anthony, Dinesh Tej, Sasidhar Kocharlakota, Vidhi Yadhav, Abhignya Vuthuluru, Bhagwan Tiwari, Jatin Goswami and Rajai Rowan.
Produced by Rahul Varma, K Veena Rani and K Hanumant Raju, with Komatireddy Sharan Reddy as co-producer, the film is backed by Caveman Stories, HK Films and Kaliyuga Vaaradha Creations. G Srinivas Reddy handles the cinematography, Sunny MR is the music director, with additional music by Ram Miryala. Editing is by Vijay Vardhan Kavuri, while Srikanth Ramisetty oversees art direction. Having completed its major shooting schedules, Husharu 2 is currently in post-production and is targeting a year-end theatrical release.
