Mouli Tanuj Prashanth, popularly known as Mouli, is gearing up for the release of Donga Naa Koduku following the success of his previous film, Little Hearts. The makers unveiled the song 'Oh My God' at an event on Wednesday, where Mouli spoke about stepping out of his comfort zone to perform the dance number.
“I never thought I could dance like this. My mother was shocked after watching my dance because she couldn't believe it. I should thank choreographer Sandeep Master for making me dance like that. He actually took me out of my comfort zone while choreographing this song,” said Mouli. The actor also praised lyricist Bhaskarbatla for his work on the song. “I am very happy to have worked with Bhaskarbatla, who wrote lyrics that everyone can easily understand. Ram Miriyala is my favourite singer, and he has lent his voice to this song. I feel lucky to have him sing for my film,” he said.
Recalling his shy nature during childhood, Mouli shared an incident from his school days. “When I was in fifth grade, my teacher asked me to participate in a competition and tell a joke. But I couldn't speak and was trembling at the time. That's how I used to be. Now, when I look at myself dancing to this song without any pressure, I realise how far I have come by stepping out of my comfort zone,” he said.
Mouli revealed that he initially started a YouTube channel and wanted to lead a happy life in Visakhapatnam before his passion for acting brought him to Hyderabad. “I made a few short films and was happy with my YouTube channel. But I wanted to try something new and step out of my comfort zone. That desire has now brought me the opportunity to work with one of India's major production houses, Mythri Movie Makers,” he said.
He added that his journey had been driven by his desire to explore new things and encouraged others to do the same. “I appeal to everyone to try something that takes them out of their comfort zone,” he said.
For the 'Oh My God' song, Mouli danced in front of a huge crowd at Visakhapatnam beach, an experience he never imagined having. Speaking about his journey so far, he said, “I wanted to become an actor, so I came to Hyderabad. My first film, Little Hearts, was a success, and now I'm coming up with Donga Naa Koduku. It is an entertaining film and will be released on November 13. I'm sure audiences will enjoy watching it.”
Mouli also revealed that he got an opportunity to learn about film production while working with Mythri Movie Makers. “Apart from acting, I also handled production and learnt a lot from Mythri Movie Makers,” he said.
Sushmitha Shetty plays the female lead in Donga Naa Koduku, which marks the directorial debut of Srinu Kmabla. Sinjith is composing the music.
