The makers of the Sundeep Kishan-starrer Power Peta, have introduced the female lead, Ritika Nayak, who plays Padamataveedhi Janaki. The film, which is currently shooting, is directed by Krishna Chaitanya. Vijay Chilla and Shashi Devireddy are producing the film under the banner of 70MM Entertainments.
Ritika recently tasted success with Korean Kanakaraju, in which she starred opposite Varun Tej. She played a Korean-speaking girl in the comedy entertainer, which gave Varun Tej a good break. Last year, Ritika was also part of the successful film Mirai, further strengthening her position as a leading actress in Telugu cinema.
Ritika made her debut with Ashoka Vanamlo Arjuna Kalyanam, which was released in 2022, and later appeared in a cameo in Nani’s Hi Nanna. She is now playing the female lead in Power Peta, alongside Sundeep Kishan.
On her birthday, the makers unveiled a video glimpse introducing her character, Padamataveedhi Janaki. Ritika appears in a different avatar compared to her earlier films, with a more glamorous look. The glimpse suggests that Power Peta could present her in a new dimension.
Director Krishna Chaitanya has been looking for a strong comeback in recent years. His previous film, Gangs of Godavari, starring Vishwak Sen, failed to make a mark at the box office after its release in 2024. He is now pinning his hopes on Power Peta, which features Sundeep Kishan and Ritika Nayak as the lead pair.
