Another Telangana set film, Idupu Kayitham, is gearing up for release. Priyadarshi and Naga Durga play the lead roles in the film, which is produced by Bunny Vas and Sukumar under their respective banners, Bunny Vas Works and Sukumar Writings. Vamsi Reddy Dondapati is making his directorial debut with the film, while Suresh Bobbili is composing the music.
The makers recently unveiled the song 'Gadapa' and announced December 11 as the film's release date. For Naga Durga, Idupu Kayitham marks her debut as a female lead in Telugu cinema, making it a special project for her.
"It's been a special journey with Idupu Kayitham, and I believe the song 'Gadapa' has connected with everyone. Whenever I did something naughty at home, my mother would tell me, 'You will understand when you get married and go to your in-laws' house.' Those words kept coming to my mind while playing Srilatha in this film," said Naga Durga.
The actress believes Srilatha is a character audiences can relate to, regardless of their background. "Srilatha is someone you can find in your own home, your neighbour's house and everywhere around you. The character I played in this film will connect with everyone, without any regional boundaries. When the promo for 'Gadapa' was released, my father called me and said that I had acted very well. He was also emotional after watching it," she said.
Naga Durga added that she put in considerable effort to transform herself for the role. "I worked very hard to transform myself from Naga Durga into Srilatha for this film. I hope everyone likes the character and appreciates my performance and the effort I have put into it," she said.
Actor Priyadarshi spoke about the initial response to the film's title, Idupu Kayitham, on social media. He revealed that some people questioned the title and even suggested that the film would need subtitles or be dubbed into Telugu.
"When many people on social media responded negatively to the title Idupu Kayitham, some even commented that it needed subtitles or would have to be dubbed into Telugu. At that point, we wondered whether we were doing something wrong. However, we received a lot of support from the film industry and the media, which encouraged us. With that confidence, we were able to turn the negativity into positivity," said Priyadarshi.
Speaking about 'Gadapa', the actor said the song celebrates the emotions and memories associated with the entrance of a home.
"This song celebrates the emotions connected to a doorstep, where every household has countless memories. Even if you are thinking about nativity and regional culture, please take a moment to watch our film and listen to this song. You will feel the love behind it. Our film will release on December 11, and I believe audiences will connect with it," he said.
Priyadarshi also added that Suresh Bobbili's music would be one of the major attractions of the film.
