After the success of Hanu-Man, all eyes are on filmmaker Prasanth Varma and his upcoming projects. He is serving as the showrunner for Mahakali, directed by Puja Aparna Kolluru and produced by Riwaz Ramesh Duggal under RKD Studios. RK Duggal is presenting the film.

The film features Bhoomi Shetty, Akshaye Khanna, Sriya Reddy and Rohit Saraf in prominent roles. The makers have now unveiled its first musical offering, 'Aigiri Nandini', marking the beginning of the film's musical promotions on a devotional note.

Based on the timeless hymn dedicated to Goddess Mahakali and composed by Sri Jagadguru Adi Shankaracharya, the song brings together devotional richness, powerful vocals and striking visuals.

Smaran Sai has composed the music for the devotional track. The composition gradually builds in intensity, creating an immersive experience that complements its divine theme.  Anila Rajeev, Geetha Madhuri and Sai Charan have lent their voices to the song, delivering an energetic rendition with impressive variations.

Sriya Reddy makes a majestic appearance as Goddess Mahakali in the song. Portrayed in a magnificent multi-armed form against a traditional temple backdrop, the actress looks striking as the fierce manifestation of the divine feminine.

However, one of the most beautiful aspects of the visual presentation is the portrayal of the goddess in her motherly form, adding another dimension to her character.

The visuals complement the song's musical intensity, while Sriya Reddy's commanding screen presence adds strength to the devotional presentation. The combination of Smaran Sai's orchestration, the singers' energetic rendition and the grand portrayal of Goddess Mahakali creates several spiritually uplifting moments.

On the technical front, the film has cinematography by Suresh Ragutu and production design by Sri Nagendra Tangala. With Aigiri Nandini, Mahakali has made an impressive start to its musical campaign. The film is scheduled for a Sankranthi release on January 8, 2027.
