Director Krishna Chaitanya is helming Sundeep Kishan’s upcoming film titled Powerpeta, which was announced recently. Backed by 70mm Entertainments, the acclaimed banner led by Vijay Chilla and Shashi Devireddy, the film promises to be an ambitious venture. Known for supporting content-driven cinema with strong storytelling, the production house is looking to raise the bar once again with this project. On the occasion of Sundeep Kishan’s birthday, the makers unveiled a striking glimpse from the film.
The glimpse opens on a high-voltage note, capturing the frenzy of a first day, first show in a packed theatre. Amid the chaos, the protagonist makes a fiery entry, smoking a cigarette and delivering a powerful dialogue about a lion. He goes on to define the essence of the land and the forces that shape its power. In a whistle-worthy moment, he sets the tone by hurling crackers at the theatre screen.
Sundeep Kishan appears in a rugged period avatar, sporting stylish shades, vibrant attire, and an intimidating presence. The reveal of his character name, Senapathi Ravi, adds further weight, hinting at the dominance and intensity of the role. His screen presence is explosive, complemented by punchy dialogue delivery and raw attitude.
Director Krishna Chaitanya impresses with his ability to craft a larger-than-life character. The elevations land effectively, and the dialogues once again underline his strength as a writer. Even a simple act like lighting a cigarette is elevated into a powerful moment, reflecting his directorial command.
Cinematographer Madhie captures the period setting with finesse, while Mani Sharma’s intense background score amplifies the impact of each frame. National Award-winning editor Sreekar Prasad handles the editing, with production design by Ramakrishna and Monika. The sound design by Sachin Sudhakaran and Hariharan further enhances the film’s atmosphere.
The shoot is currently underway, with the team having completed its first schedule.
