The film marks the directorial debut of SP Durga Naresh, while music director KM Radhakrishna made a comeback with this project. Set against a 1990s Godavari backdrop, Papam Pratap is a rural drama that follows the life of Pratap after his marriage.
The story takes a dramatic turn when the female lead, played by Payal Radhakrishna, discovers a shocking truth about her husband, leading to a series of unexpected events.
The OTT rights of the film have been acquired by ETV Win, which has announced that Papam Pratap will start streaming from May 7. Interestingly, ETV Win was also one of the producers of the film, along with Gaddam Rakesh Reddy and Rudradev Madhi Reddy.
The plot revolves around Pratap (Thiruveer), who marries his childhood love Bujjamma (Payal Radhakrishna). However, within just three days of their wedding, Bujjamma leaves him and approaches the village panchayat, claiming that something is wrong with him. What exactly is Pratap’s problem, what happens during his sleep, and how he deals with it forms the crux of the story.
Both Thiruveer and Payal Radhakrishna delivered sincere performances in this rural drama.
