At a promotional event for his directorial debut, Youth, in Hyderabad, Ken Karunaas said that he is a big fan of Nani.
Speaking at the event, Ken said that he desires to be 'one brick in the wall' that Nani builds. He went on to add, "I can't do it as perfectly as Nani sir does, but if he watches Youth and if we meet, it will be a Jersey moment for me, and I will scream as he did." The Telugu version of the film is getting a release on March 26.
Ken also took the opportunity to thank Suriya, Karthi, and Silambarasan TR for encouraging him. With Ken making his debut as the lead, the film also starred Suraj Venjaramoodu, Devadarshini, Anishma Anilkumar, Meenakshi Dinesh, and Priyanshi Yadav, among others.
The coming-of-age comedy drama stars Ken in his debut as the lead. The film received mostly positive reviews. An excerpt from the CE review reads, "In Youth, Ken gets most things right and shines as a director, especially in the way he has extracted performances. While the kids are all right in this film, it is Suraj and Devadarshini who really steal the show in the last act with their restraint and subtlety."
GV Prakash Kumar, who has composed music for Asuran (2018) and Vaathi (2023), which featured Ken, composed music for Youth. The rest of the crew includes Viki as the cinematographer, Nash as the editor, Ramu Thangaraj as the art director, and Kalai Kingson as the stunt choreographer.
