The shooting of Peddi, starring Ram Charan and directed by Buchi Babu Sana, is progressing at a brisk pace in Hyderabad. On Wednesday, the team had a surprise visitor on the sets — cricketer Tilak Varma, who was part of the recent T20 World Cup–winning squad.
Tilak Varma, who hails from Hyderabad and shares a friendly bond with Ram Charan, dropped by the sets to meet the team. Fans may recall the Peddi promotional video where Ram Charan is seen playing a powerful cricket shot, sending the ball out of the ground. The actor’s stylish shot in the video had gone viral and generated a lot of excitement for the film.
During his visit, Tilak Varma was curious about the bat used by Ram Charan in this film. The actor showed him the same bat that was used in the shoot. The film’s story is set against the backdrop of sports, particularly cricket, in rural areas of Vizianagaram district. Later, Ram Charan presented the Peddi cricket bat to Tilak Varma as a special gesture during his visit to the sets.
Initially planned for release in March, the film is now scheduled to hit the screens on April 30. The shooting is currently underway, and the makers are confident of wrapping up the project within the deadline.
Janhvi Kapoor plays the female lead in the film. The cast also includes Divyendu Sharma, Boman Irani, Shiv Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, and Rao Ramesh in key roles.
The film is produced by Venkat Satish Kilaru, with leading production houses Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings associated with the project.
