Ever since the first poster of Jr NTR x Trivikram was released on Monday, users on X have been up in arms to debate on the origin of Lord Murugan/Subramanya Swamy. The much-anticipated film hinted at story based on either the reincarnation of the god or his divine spear playing a key role in Jr NTR's character arc as revealed in its first poster. Naga Vamsi shared the poster with the caption, "Born in the North. Forged in the Heartland. Worshipped in the South. Now... A tale destined to belong to the universe."

The caption enraged Tamil X users who engaged in a war of words with other members on the platform, claiming that Lord Murugan was born in Tamil Nadu and is a Tamil god. Many requested the makers "not to alter history" for their movie. Some also pointed out how his six sacred abodes are in the state and not anywhere else. One person said that it was "a pure attempt to distort Tamil history and culture," while another person called for a boycott of Jr NTR x Trivikram's film.

Another section of the audience defended the makers, underlining that Murugan isn't only worshiped in Tamil Nadu, but by devotees across India. "He's worshipped as Subramanya Swamy in the Telugu states & Karnataka and as Kartikeya/Skanda in North India. Just bcz y'all worship him more doesn't make him a Tamil god," said one person. "He is god for all hindus across the world," asserted another user.

The makers are yet to respond to the debates and discussions or offer a clarification on their story. Jr NTR x Trivikram will have music will be composed by Anirudh. It is jointly produced by S Radha Krishna (China Babu) under the prestigious Haarika & Hassine Creations banner and Nandamuri Kalyan Ram under NTR Arts.

Currently, Trivikram is working on Aadarsha Kutumbam House No: 47 – AK47 with Venkatesh, which is being produced by Suryadevara Radha Krishna under Haarika & Hassine Creations. Srinidhi Shetty is playing the female lead in the film, which is scheduled to release on October 2. Interestingly, the same production house will also bankroll this high-budget film with Jr NTR and Trivikram.

Meanwhile, Jr NTR is working with director Prashanth Neel for their upcoming film Dragon. The makers recently unveiled a glimpse of the film, which showcased an intense world and created strong curiosity among audiences. The film is set to hit the screens in June 11, 2027.
