Sumanth, a member of the Akkineni family, has always been selective about his projects and prefers to take up subjects that appeal to him. His last outing, Anaganaga, was released directly on OTT and received a good response from audiences. Now, he is gearing up for his next film, Mahendragiri Varahi, which blends fantasy, mythology, and mystery.
Directed by Santosh Jagarlapudi, the film is being produced by Madhu Kalipu and Lakshman under the banners of Rajashyamala Entertainments and Bridge Films. The teaser was unveiled on Monday and has generated considerable curiosity among movie lovers.
Director Anil Ravipudi attended the teaser launch event as the chief guest and praised the promotional video. “The teaser of Mahendragiri Varahi is highly impressive and leaves a strong impact. It is packed with thrilling elements and elevated by an excellent background score,” said Anil Ravipudi.
He added that the film appears promising and has all the ingredients to succeed at the box office. “Producer Madhu, who previously backed the acclaimed Rangamarthanda, has once again demonstrated his taste for quality cinema. Lakshman has also played a key role in producing this project, and I wish the entire team great success,” he said.
Anil Ravipudi also lauded music director Anup Rubens for delivering an outstanding score and appreciated director Santosh Jagarlapudi’s vision, which is evident throughout the teaser. “I hope Sumanth, who has delivered several memorable performances in his career, scores one of his biggest hits with this film,” he added.
Director Santosh Jagarlapudi has crafted the film around the mysterious lore surrounding the sacred Varahi temple located in Mahendragiri. The story combines mythology, mystery, and suspense to create a unique cinematic experience.
The film features Sumanth, Meenakshi Goswami, Brahmanandam, Vennela Kishore, Rajeev Kanakala, Kamal Kamaraju, Satyasai Srinivas, Vamsi Chaganti, and Manju Bhargavi in key roles. The music is composed by Anup Rubens, while the story has been written by Murali.
Mahendragiri Varahi revolves around an investigation officer, played by Sumanth, who sets out to unravel the mystery behind a centuries-old curse and a series of unexplained deaths in a village. What is the story behind the curse? Can it be broken? Who is Aishwarya Rajesh’s character, and how does she assist Sumanth in his mission? These intriguing questions form the crux of the narrative.
