

In a landmark moment celebrating Telugu cinema’s growing national stature, legendary actor Mohan Babu received the Governor’s Award of Excellence from the Government of West Bengal on Republic Day, January 26. The award ceremony was held at Lok Bhavan in Kolkata.
The honour was presented by the Governor of West Bengal in the presence of several distinguished guests, followed by the traditional At Home reception. Mohan Babu’s son Vishnu Manchu and actor Siva Balaji were also present at the event, joining in the celebration of the veteran actor’s monumental achievements.
This recognition marks a historic milestone, as it is the first time the West Bengal Government has conferred such an honour on a Telugu actor. The award highlights the growing influence and artistic excellence of Telugu cinema across the country.
