During an event for Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, Chiranjeevi addressed the casting couch culture in Telugu Film Industry. Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, directed by Anil Ravipudi, was released on the occasion of Sankranthi.

"This industry is a great one. If someone faces any negative or bitter experience, I believe that their personal choice has a part in it. When you are strict and serious with your occupation, no one can take advantage of you. There is no casting couch culture, it depends on the person," said the actor, who added, "This industry is like a mirror. What you are is what you'll see in the mirror."

Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu is directed by Anil Ravipudi and also stars Nayanthara, with Venkatesh in an extended cameo appearance.

CE's review of the film reads, "Chiranjeevi teams up for the first time with director Anil Ravipudi for Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, which hit screens on January 11. With Nayanthara as the female lead and Chiranjeevi’s daughter Sushmitha producing the film along with Sahu Garapati, expectations were naturally high. Known for his strength in comedy and commercial entertainers, Anil Ravipudi once again sticks to his familiar template. However, instead of backing it with a strong story, he builds the entire film around Chiranjeevi, banking heavily on the star’s screen presence, timing, and vintage charm."
