Shiva Kandukuri will be seen as the lead actor in his upcoming film Chai Wala, produced by Radha V Papudippu under the Harshika Productions banner. The film is directed by Pramod Harsha, with Venkat R Papudippu as co-producer and music composed by Prashanth R Vihari. Rajeev Kanakala, Teju Ashwini, Rajkumar Kasireddy, Chaitanya Krishna, and Vadlamani Srinivas play important roles. The makers confirmed that the film is slated for a theatrical release on February 6.
As part of the promotions, the title song of Chai Wala was released on Friday at the same event, with City Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar attending as the chief guest.
Speaking at the event, Shiva Kandukuri said, “The emotion in this movie will connect with everyone. It talks about conversations we don’t have at home and emotions we often fail to express outside, either due to shyness or fear. Rajeev Kanakala garu has put his heart and soul into the father’s role. Acting alongside such a great actor taught me a lot. Chai Wala is a film that everyone can relate to, and I hope audiences will come to theatres on February 6 and support us.”
Director Pramod Harsha expressed strong confidence in the film. “Prashanth has given excellent music, and Suresh’s lyrics are beautifully written. Rajeev Kanakala is the backbone of this film. I am thankful to Raj Kandukuri garu for standing by us throughout this journey. Shiva has delivered a brilliant performance, and I am very confident about the film’s success. If audiences like the film, I request them to spread the word and support us,” he said.
Producer and Shiva Kandukuri’s father, Raj Kandukuri, highlighted the emotional core of the film. “Chai Wala has a strong father-and-son emotion, along with a beautiful bond between tea and the shop owner. Director Pramod has written this emotional triangle very effectively. From the beginning, he was clear that Rajeev Kanakala would play the father’s role. Every character has come out extremely well, and audiences will see a completely new side of Shiva in this film. I became emotional while watching the interval block,” he added.
City Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar also shared his thoughts, saying, “Tea plays an important role in everyone’s life. It is heartening to see a young hero like Shiva Kandukuri and experienced actors like Rajeev Kanakala coming together for this film. I am confident that Chai Wala will turn out to be a big success.”
