Chiranjeevi’s latest film Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, directed by Anil Ravipudi, was released on January 12. The film has opened strongly at the box office, according to the makers. The first-day collections were officially announced on social media by the production house.
With a worldwide gross of ₹84 crore on its opening day, Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu has registered the second-best opening of Chiranjeevi’s entire career. His earlier film Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy holds the top spot with a first-day gross of ₹85 crore.
Directed by Anil Ravipudi and produced by Sushmitha Konidela and Sahu Garapati, the film hit the screens on January 12, coinciding with the Sankranthi festival. The strong opening has come as a major relief for Chiranjeevi, especially after his previous release Bhola Shankar ended up as a huge box-office disaster.
After Bhola Shankar, Chiranjeevi completed Vishwambhara, which is scheduled to release in the summer of this year. However, he decided to take up Anil Ravipudi’s film in between, which was completed in just six months and released ahead of Vishwambhara.
As announced earlier, the film opened to positive reviews across the board. Including premiere shows, Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu collected ₹84 crore on its first day and is continuing its strong run on the second day as well. Venkatesh played an extended cameo in this film.
Apart from Chiranjeevi’s film, Prabhas-starrer The Raja Saab released on January 9, Ravi Teja’s Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi arrived on January 13, while Naveen Polishetty’s Anaganaga Oka Raju and Sharwanand’s Nari Nari Naduma Murari are set to release on January 14.
