The makers of Lenin, featuring Akhil Akkineni and Bhagyashri Borse, recently announced that the film’s first single will be released on January 5. Now, they have unveiled the first look of Bhagyashri Borse from the film. She plays the character Bharathi and is seen in a village-girl avatar, wearing a half-saree.
Murali Kishor Abburu, who earlier directed Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnu Katha, is helming the film. This marks his second outing as a director and his first collaboration with Akhil Akkineni. The film is set against a Rayalaseema backdrop.
The project is being produced by Akhil’s father, superstar Nagarjuna, along with Naga Vamsi of Sithara Entertainments.
With the first single announcement, the makers have kick-started promotions, followed by the release of Bhagyashri’s first look. Sreeleela was initially considered for the female lead, but she opted out due to her busy schedule, following which Bhagyashri Borse was roped in.
The makers had initially planned a February release. However, with a significant portion of the shoot still pending, a February release now seems unlikely. According to sources close to the unit, the film is likely to hit the screens during the summer.
