Recently, we reported about Priyanka Chopra starring in a key a role in director SS Rajamouli's Varanasi, opposite Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran. She plays a character named Mandakini in the film. It marks her comeback into Indian cinema after a long gap.

Speaking about it on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the actor said that the film has been in production for 14 months now and that another six months of shoot is left in it. "I have not done an Indian movie in almost six or seven years. This movie is called Varanasi and it is directed by SS Rajamouli, who is one of India's most amazing, talented directors," she said. While the actor's film that was a primarily Hindi release is 2021's The White Tiger, which also released in English, her last pure Hindi film is 2019's The Sky Is Pink.

The actor also stated that she is "very excited about" the film that will hit theatres in April next year. The film has been shot in IMAX specifically for theatres that support the format.

The actor also addressed certain misconceptions about her filmography. She said that IMDb data about the number of films she has done in her career so far is not accurate. "Sometimes, it is 60. Sometimes, it is 80," she said.

Priyanka Chopra's latest comments come shortly after she said that some of the fan theories about her film with Rajamouli are surprisingly accurate. Speaking to Collider recently, she said, "There are so many Easter eggs, which I know a lot of fans have already started speculating about. Some of them have a lot of it right, which is terrifying."

Meanwhile, the actor can be seen in the Prime Video film The Bluff, directed by Frank E Flowers and co-starring Karl Urban, Safia Oakley-Green, Vedanten Naidoo, and Ismael Cruz Cordova.
