The small-budget romantic drama Nilave, starring Sowmith Poladi and Shreyansi Sen, hit the screens last week and has reportedly found favour with audiences. Interestingly, Sowmith not only played the lead role but also co-directed the film along with Sai K Vennam. The film also features Harsha Chemudu and Supriya Aysola as another lead pair. The project is produced by Raj Allada, Giridhar Rao Poladi, and Sai K Vennam.
Released on February 13 as a Valentine’s Day special, Nilave has received a positive response, according to the makers. They claim the film is being appreciated as a musical love drama and recently hosted a success meet to celebrate the response.
Speaking at the event, lead actor-director Sowmith Poladi said the film’s success was particularly special given the presence of several newcomers. “This film is the result of three years of hard work. For us, Nilave is like Baahubali. No matter how many difficulties we faced, we never compromised. The response we are getting now makes us extremely happy. For us, this film is a genuine hit,” he said.
Sowmith added that the team has been overwhelmed by the audience turnout. “For the past four days, we’ve been seeing house-full boards. We even visited a theatre at RTC Cross Roads, where Nilave is playing, and the show was completely full. That moment meant a lot to us,” he shared.
Co-director Sai K Vennam recalled the long journey behind the film. “This project started nearly three years ago. I thank everyone who supported and blessed us. I learned a lot during the making of this film. It made me believe that when your intention is pure, everything eventually falls into place,” he said.
He also had a message for aspiring filmmakers. “If you clearly understand why you want to make a film, things will work out. We have come this far because our purpose was strong. This success belongs to the entire team,” he added.
Senior director V Samudra, who attended the success meet as the chief guest, praised the team’s effort. “Nilave has received positive talk. With decent collections, it has turned into a silent hit,” he said.
