Sri Chidambaram Garu opened in theatres on February 6. Directed by debutant Vinay Ratnam, the film largely features newcomers.
Vamsi Tummala and Sandhya Vasishta play the lead roles in this rural drama. The film is set in a village near Rajahmundry, and interestingly, several actors were roped in from that region.
The film is now all set for its digital premiere on February 19 on ETV Win. Distributor and producer Vamsi Nandipati supported the project by releasing the film theatrically, helping the small film reach audiences.
Oscar winning music composer MM Keeravani, rendered vocals for the song, 'Velle Daarilo'. The song received a warm response, with music composed by Chandu Ravi and lyrics penned by Chandrashekhar.
The story revolves around a young man who has squinted eyes and considers it a major drawback in his life. While such a condition may appear like a handicap to some, the film explores how insecurity fades when one realises that it affects only the body and not the heart. This forms the core message director Vinay Ratnam conveys through his debut venture.
