Tharun Bhascker seems to be busier as an actor than as a director these days. While he is expected to direct the sequel to Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi and another project, he has been actively choosing acting roles. His recent release Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi, in which he played the lead opposite Eesha Rebba, marked another such outing. Now, he is headlining yet another film, interestingly presented by popular director Pavan Sadineni.
Continuing his streak of unconventional choices, Tharun Bhascker teams up with writer-director Kasyap Sreenivas for this unique entertainer. The film is presented by Pavan Sadineni, who is currently directing Dulquer Salmaan’s Aakasamlo Oka Tara, and is produced by Kalyana Chakravarthy Manthina, Bhanu Kiran Pratapa, Vijay Krishna Lingamaneni, and Umesh Bansal. On Friday, the makers unveiled the film’s title with a striking poster.
Titled Gaayapadda Simham, the poster immediately hints at the film’s tone and backdrop. The film is said to be a mix of political satire, crime, and offbeat humour. Adding to the intrigue is the quirky tagline, “Don’t Laugh! It’s a Serious Matter!” The makers have also confirmed that the trailer will be released on February 9.
The film features Faria Abdullah and Maanasa Choudhary as the female leads, with Vishnu Oi, Harshavardhan, and Subhalekha Sudhakar playing key roles.
On the technical front, Vidya Sagar Chinta handles the cinematography, while Sweekar Agasthi composes the music. Editing is by Viplav Nyshadam, and production design is by Chandrika Gorrepati. The story has been penned by Surya Prakash Jyosula. The shoot is nearing completion, with only one song left to be filmed.
