Irumudi box office: The Ravi Teja-starrer Irumudi is unstoppable despite facing competition at the box office. The film has now entered the ₹150 crore club after completing nine days in theatres. Released on August 21, the film registered strong numbers from day one, thanks to the positive word of mouth.
Directed by Shiva Nirvana and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the film collected ₹14.30 crore gross in India on Day 9. In the overseas market, it collected ₹1 crore on the ninth day, taking the total overseas gross to ₹19.50 crore. With this, the film’s worldwide gross has reached ₹152.50 crore, which is a remarkable achievement for a Ravi Teja film in just nine days.
On Saturday, Day 9, Irumudi collected a net of ₹12.30 crore from 2,733 shows in India. This is a 21.80 per cent jump compared to Friday’s collections. With this, the India gross collections stand at ₹133 crore, while the India net collections have reached ₹114.55 crore. The film also recorded a strong 70 per cent occupancy on Saturday, indicating that it is likely to continue its strong run at the box office.
Apart from the Telugu states, Karnataka has also emerged as a notable market for the film. Irumudi collected ₹1.15 crore in Karnataka on Day 9, which is a good response. However, the film has been relatively disappointing in Tamil Nadu and Kerala, where the collections remain on the lower side.
Irumudi faced a major challenge with the release of the big-budget Yash-starrer Toxic on August 26. Despite the competition, the Ravi Teja film has managed to maintain its strong hold at the box office. With the current trend, Sunday is also expected to bring strong numbers for the film.
Irumudi has emerged as one of the biggest successes in Ravi Teja’s career, both in terms of collections and his performance. Priya Bhavani Shankar played the female lead, while Baby Nakshatra portrayed Manemma, the daughter of Ravi Teja’s character. Swasika also played a key role in this intense family drama.
