Veteran producer Adiseshagiri Rao is a well-known name in Telugu and Hindi cinema. Along with his elder brother, legendary actor Krishna, he produced several successful films under the Padmalaya Studios banner. He also made a mark in Bollywood by producing hit films such as Himmatwala, Meri Aawaz Suno, Mawaali, Qaidi and Pataal Bhairavi, among others. The veteran producer recently attended an event organised to celebrate the success of Krishna's grandson Jai Krishna's debut film.
"I would like to thank all Krishna fans for their unconditional support towards Jai Krishna's debut film. My heartfelt gratitude goes to each one of them," said Adiseshagiri Rao. He has been a strong pillar behind Jai Krishna's launch and is also the uncle of Superstar Mahesh Babu.
Speaking on the occasion, Adiseshagiri Rao recalled the everlasting bond between Krishna and his fans. "My brother Krishna stayed away from the film industry for nearly 20 years and passed away four years ago. Even today, thousands proudly call themselves Krishna fans. My brother always used to tell me, 'What can we do for these fans? We should always be grateful to them.' For nearly five decades, Krishna fans have been involved in several social service activities, and I sincerely thank all of them," he said.
Talking about Jai Krishna's debut, Adiseshagiri Rao said he was happy that the youngster had earned appreciation as an actor. "Many people appreciated Jai Krishna's performance, especially in the action sequences, dances and dialogue delivery. He has also done well in emotional and entertaining scenes. I feel this film is just a trailer of what he is capable of. It has proved that Jai Krishna can perform in any genre, and everyone has a positive opinion about him now," he said.
The veteran producer added that beyond the film's budget, business and box-office collections, Jai Krishna had already emerged successful. "We all believe Jai Krishna has succeeded as a hero. I told him not to worry too much about the business side and instead focus on his journey as an actor. I am confident he will carry forward Krishna's legacy," he said.
He also reminded Jai Krishna about the responsibility of carrying forward the Padmalaya Studios banner. "Mahesh Babu is always there to support him in every step of his career. At the same time, I want Jai Krishna to continue the legacy of Padmalaya Studios as well. Padmalaya was not just a prestigious banner in Telugu cinema; it was a recognised name in Mumbai and across the country. You have the responsibility of taking that legacy forward," Adiseshagiri Rao said.
During his speech, Adiseshagiri Rao also spoke about the growing dominance of Hollywood films at the Indian box office, citing the recent success of Spider-Man and The Odyssey.
"The recently released Spider-Man has shaken the Indian box office. The collections are unbelievable. I have never seen a Hollywood film create such a massive impact across India in recent times. During our generation, Ben-Hur made a huge impression, but after nearly 30 or 40 years, I am seeing Hollywood films once again dominating the Indian box office in such a big way," he said.
He urged Indian filmmakers to closely study Hollywood's marketing strategies. "I didn't notice aggressive publicity for Spider-Man. Maybe they have adopted newer promotional methods that we are not aware of. It is a big lesson for all producers. We should study how they announce release dates, plan promotions and successfully take their films to the youth and the general audience. I request our producers to analyse their marketing strategies in depth so that we can improve our own film business in the future," Adiseshagiri Rao concluded.
