Actor Sharwanand is on a roll, with his recent films Nari Nari Naduma Murari and Biker putting him back on the success track. He is now coming up with a different kind of film, Bhogi, directed by Sampath Nandi. The film is shaping up to be one of the most daring and large-scale ventures in Sharwanand’s career. Anupama Parameswaran and Dimple Hayathi play the female leads in this period drama, produced by KK Radhamohan under his Sri Sathya Sai Arts banner.
The makers have now unveiled Anupama Parameswaran’s look as Kandula Sulochana Rani. Earlier, the team released a striking first-look poster, followed by a special poster on Sharwanand’s birthday, both of which received a remarkable response, with audiences praising the raw intensity and grand vision.
Anupama’s first-look poster presents her as a village belle, walking barefoot along a dusty rural path. She carries a large woven basket filled with green leaves on her head, while holding more leaves in one hand and a tiffin box in the other. Her rustic attire — an earthy half-saree paired with a faded blouse — is styled traditionally. Her intense and determined expression hints at a strong, hardworking character. The backdrop features an authentic village setting with mud huts, wooden fences, and cattle.
The character of Sulochana Rani is portrayed as a spirited woman deeply rooted in nature. She earns her livelihood by crafting leaf plates from Moduga leaves — known as the “Flame of the Forest” — symbolising resilience and quiet strength. She is not just part of this world, but its very pulse — an elemental force that anchors the storm named Ganga.
Bringing authenticity to the role, Anupama has immersed herself in the nuances of the character, working on the dialect, diction, and subtle emotional layers that define Sulochana and the world of Bhogi.
After completing major portions of the shoot across long schedules, the team recently wrapped high-intensity action sequences in Rajamahendravaram and the forest regions of Rampachodavaram and Maredumilli. Preparations are now underway for the next schedule, set to begin in and around Hyderabad in the first week of May.
Bhogi also stars Dimple Hayathi in another lead role. Set in the early 1960s, it is a gripping period action drama set in a fictional village along the Telangana–Maharashtra border.
The film boasts a strong technical team, with art direction by Kiran Kumar Manne, cinematography by Kishore Kumar Arokia, and music composed by Bheems Ceciroleo, adding emotional depth and energy to the narrative.
Positioned as a major pan-India release, Bhogi is set to hit theatres on August 28 in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi, coinciding with the festive occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
