On Friday, actor and Andhra Pradesh's Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, was admitted to a hospital after falling severely ill, while tending to his administrative duties with his officials. Subsequently, he has undergone a surgical procedure.
In a statement posted on X, from the handle of the Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister's Office, it was announced, "Deputy Chief Minister Shri Pawan Kalyan undergoes surgery. Honorable Deputy Chief Minister Shri Pawan Kalyan underwent surgery on Saturday evening. On Friday morning, while discussing administrative matters with his officials, he suddenly fell severely ill. He has been facing health issues for the past few months. Consequently, on the advice of his personal doctors, he canceled his official programs for Friday and went to the hospital. There, along with medical tests, an MRI was also conducted. After reviewing them, the doctors decided that surgery was necessary and performed it. The doctors have advised that he can participate in official programs after a week to ten days of rest. However, they have stated that long-term precautions are necessary, and it will take more time for complete recovery."
Subsequently his wife, Anna Konidala, and his elder brother, actor Chiranjeevi, took to social media to provide updates on Pawan Kalyan's health.
Taking to Instagram, Anna wrote, "He is recovering. All is well. Thank you."
Meanwhile, Chiranjeevi wrote, "Kalyan Babu has successfully undergone a medical procedure and is now safe, stable, and recovering well. As per the doctors, it may take about a week for him to return to his normal routine. There is no cause for concern. Thank you all for your love, concern, and prayers. Let us keep him in our thoughts and wish him strength, comfort, and a speedy recovery."
Film personalities from the Telugu film industry and politicians across India expressed their support for Pawan Kalyan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote, that he spoke to Pawan Kalyan, whereas, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu wished the actor-politician for a speedy recovery.
Actors such as Ram Charan, Jr NTR, Allu Arjun, Sai Dharam Tej, expressed their regards for Pawan Kalyan.
On the cinematic front, Pawan Kalyan was recently seen in Ustaad Bhagat Singh, which is currently streaming on Netflix. He is set to join hands with Surender Reddy for his next film.
