Actor Naga Shaurya badly needs commercial success, as his last few films did not perform well at the box office. After a gap of three years, he is now coming up with Bad Boy Karthik. The trailer of the film was unveiled on Monday at a multiplex in Hyderabad.
Naga Shaurya appears in a completely new mass avatar in the trailer, which presents the film as an action-packed entertainer.
The trailer begins with a voiceover by VK Naresh, in which he prays to Lord Narasimha to keep bad boys away. Soon after, Naga Shaurya makes his entry, and from that point the trailer shifts into full action mode. For perhaps the first time in his career, the actor is seen in a complete mass role.
Samuthirakani plays the antagonist, while Sridevi Vijaykumar appears in an important role. Vennela Kishore, Brahmaji and Getup Srinu also feature prominently in the trailer.
Speaking at the trailer launch event, Naga Shaurya said he was happy to meet everyone after a long time. “My producer has a strong determination to release this film on time, and he has been there from the beginning till the end. I hope he earns both money and a good name with this film,” said Naga Shaurya.
The actor also said that ever since watching Orange, he had wanted to work with music director Harris Jayaraj. “With Bad Boy Karthik, my wish has come true. Harris Jayaraj has given very good music for this film,” he said.
Naga Shaurya further added that he had always wanted to work with cinematographer Rasool Ellore.
“I always wondered how Rasool Ellore would present me on screen, and in this film he has shown me beautifully. You will see it when the film releases. When I watched Prabhas’ debut film Eeswar, in which Sridevi Vijaykumar played the female lead, I liked her very much. Now she is acting in my film, and I hope the same luck comes to me,” said Naga Shaurya.
The actor said that Bad Boy Karthik will be released in theatres on April 17 and requested audiences to watch it on the big screen.
Ram Desina (Ramesh) is directing the film, while Chintapaludi Srinivasa Rao is producing it. Vidhi Yadav plays the female lead.
