Fantasy comedy Raakaasa released on Friday, April 3, to a positive response. The film marks the directorial debut of Manasa Sharma and is produced by Niharika Konidela under her Pink Elephant Pictures banner, in association with Zee Studios’ Umesh Kumar Bansal.
Sangeeth Soban and Nayan Sarika play the lead roles, while Vennela Kishore and Getup Srinu appear in important roles in this entertaining film.
Even before its release, the film had done good business through its theatrical and OTT rights. Now, following its release and the positive word of mouth, Raakaasa has collected Rs 10.30 crore gross worldwide in just two days.
The makers, especially Niharika Konidela, Sangeeth Soban and Nayan Sarika, toured several places across the two Telugu states and promoted the film extensively. Their aggressive promotional campaign helped the film register strong openings everywhere.
The team had also arranged premiere shows in selected cities, which received a very good response. The positive feedback from these premieres further helped build strong word of mouth for the film.
The makers are now expecting the collections to rise further on Sunday because of the holiday weekend.
According to the Raakaasa team, nearly 60,000 tickets were sold within just 24 hours, which they see as a very encouraging sign. The team is confident that the film will reach the breakeven mark within the next week.
Raakaasa is a fantasy entertainer packed with humour, particularly in the second half after Vennela Kishore’s character enters the story. Sangeeth Soban’s comic timing is said to be one of the film’s major highlights, along with the performance of Getup Srinu.
