Siddu Jonnalagadda is gearing up for his next release with Telusu Kada, a new age love story that also stars Raashii Khanna and Srinidhi Shetty. Siddu’s previous film Jack, had turned out to be a box office failure. In a recent interview, Siddu spoke about how he felt responsible enough for Jack’s failure to pay back part of his remuneration, and why he doesn’t sign contracts.

During his appearance on the podcast Raw Talks with VK, Siddu said, “The film didn’t do well, and didn’t make money. I didn’t want anyone to incur losses in the process, so I just decided to give back the money.” Siddu had returned a sum of Rs 4.75 crore to Jack producers after the film failed to perform well.

Further reflecting on his decision, Siddu stated, “Once i decided to give the money back, I didn’t think much about it. However, I had taken a loan to give back the money. So now the only thing playing on my mind is how soon I can pay back that loan, since the interest keeps on compounding with each passing term. That stress was bigger on my head.”

Among other subjects, Siddu also spoke about how he admires the sense of faith Telugu film producers and actors have amongst each other. On the subject, Siddu stated that for the past couple of his films, including DJ Tillu, Tillu Square, and his upcoming films like Badass and Telusu Kada, he hasn’t signed any formal contract with any of his producers. Siddu elaborated, “Me and the producer don’t have a single agreement. Be it Naga Vamsi or Vishwa prasad gaaru, I don’t have any agreement. It’s crores of money riding on my name, and that’s the most beautiful thing about our industry — this mutual faith people have on each other.”
