Earlier today, we had reported about the makers of OG failing to deliver the overseas print well in advance because of technical delays, due to which the Tamil version release in North American has been cancelled. Now, the Pawan Kalyan-starrer film’s distributors in other overseas territories have spoken up about the ensuing distress due to the content delivery delays.
4 Seasons Creations, a Norway-based distribution company associated with OG’s release, took to their X page to express their displeasure about OG producers’ laidback attitude towards delivering content on time. They stated, “For far too long, we as overseas distributors have been bearing the impact of careless content delivery delays.” Pointing that it is the distributors who carry the biggest risk in such cases, the distribution company added, “Already, we pay huge amounts upfront and absorb financial risks On top of that, every time a film's content comes in late, it is we who take the hits in all aspects, facing backlash from both theater chains and fans. Do producers realize what kind of damage this causes?”
4 Seasons Creations also mentioned that overseas distributors will stop being part of the business if production houses continue to avoid taking responsibility for such delays and losses.
Other distribution companies like Linus Media and 3 Realms Entertainment too shared their woes in replies section of the above post. Linus Media penned, “Enough is Enough. We put millions on the line. We make your films reach the world. And what do we get in return? Last-minute chaos. Broken promises. Zero accountability.” Mentioning how every late delivery leads to cancellations of premieres and outrage among fans, Linus Media noted, “From this moment, late content = broken trust = no business. We will walk away. And when we do, your films will rot without global screens. Respect the distributors who keep this industry alive. Or lose us forever.” threatening to stop supporting the producers going forward.
3 Realms Entertainment posted in their note, “When shows are cancelled, theaters scramble, audiences are disappointed, and we take significant financial losses. This situation is unacceptable. The industry depends on reliability, and we are committed to maintaining those standards without compromise.”
Meanwhile, the 2nd half content of OG will take another few hours because it is delivered to overseas distributors, and another few hours before it is transferred to cinema chains across all territories.
