Roshan Kanakala, who made his screen debut 2 years ago with the new-age romance Bubble Gum, is playing the lead role in Sandeep Raj’s sophomore film Mowgli. A few days ago, the Mowgli team announced December 12 as their film’s release date.
Going ahead with their promotions, the Mowgli team will unveil the first single on Friday, October 24. The song, titled ‘Sayyare’ is composed by Kaala Bhairava. The makers also unveiled a song poster that features the film’s leads Roshan Kanakala and Sakshi Mhadolkar in color-coordinated attire, swaying and courting each other under a moon-lit sky. Mowgli will mark Sakshi’s Telugu debut.
Mowgli is being produced by TG Vishwa Prasad and Krithi Prasad under People Media Factory, marking their fourth production this year after Jaat, Mirai, and Telusu Kada. The film is billed as an adventure-romance film with plenty of action. The first glimpse of the film, which has voiceover by Nani, was launched by Ram Charan at a grand ceremony earlier in August.
The supporting cast of Mowgli includes Harsha Chemudu and Bandi Saroj Kumar. Other key technicians include Rama Maruti M as the cinematographer, Kodati Pavan Kalyan as the editor, and Kiran Mamidi as the art director. Natraj Madigonda is onboard as the action director. Rama Murthy M and Radhakrishna Reddy have been credited as co-writers.
Sandeep Raj made his filmmaking debut 5 years with the Suhas-Chandini Chowdary starrer Colour Photo that garnered a lot of acclaim, and earned him a National Award, besides instant recognition among Telugu film-goers. Meanwhile, he has also been working as an actor, having appeared in films like Daaku Maharaaj and Bhairavam among others.
As of now, Mowgli is the only major Telugu film lined up for December 12 release.
