Pawan Kalyan starrer They Call Him OG, which released four weeks ago, is gearing up for its streaming premiere on Netflix on October 23. The action-drama was a long time in the making, due to Pawan Kalyan’s busy political life, and was completed over a period of 2.5 years. In last few days, there have been a plenty of rumours doing the rounds about how director Sujeeth spent a big chunk of his remuneration, Rs 6 crore to be precise, to finish the project with a high-quality output.
On Tuesday, the OG filmmaker issued a clarification note, refuting the said rumours. Taking to his X page, Sujeeth stated, “A lot is being said, but very few truly understand what it takes to carry a film from start to finish. The belief and strength my producer and team showed for OG can't be put into words. That's what gives this film its strength today.”
Sujeeth expressed his gratitude to producer DVV Danayya for his ‘constant support and belief,’ adding, “It hasn't been easy for anyone, but every bit of effort came from a place of commitment. Let's keep the process respected.” The OG filmmaker also extended his gratitude to Pawan Kalyan fans whose love and madness for OG made it all ‘feel meaningful.’
OG marks the first collaboration for Sujeeth with both Pawan Kalyan and production banner DVV Entertainment. The action-drama also starred Emraan Hashmi, Priyanka Mohan, Arjun Das, Prakash Raj and Sriya Reddy in the lead cast. Thaman’s music for the film has achieved great popularity among film-goers. According to a report by Sacnilk.com, OG garnered nearly 293 crores at the box office worldwide.
Meanwhile, Sujeeth is busy with his next project starring Nani in the lead. The film, reportedly titled Bloody Romeo, is a dark action comedy.
