Sivaji, who made a major comeback in last two years with 90s - A Middle Class Biopic and Court — State vs A Nobody, is next producing a film under his home banner Sree Shivaji Productions. The project, untitled as yet, will also star him as the male lead. The makers unveiled a new poster of their film on Friday.
Sivaji will be playing the role of a Panchayat Secretary named Sriram in the film. The newly-unveiled poster features Sivaji carrying a bundle of firecrackers, walking through his village with a sombre, introspective look on his face.
According to an official press release, Sivaji plays a man of integrity and compassion who stands firmly for truth and justice and believes that nobody should suffer because of someone else’s mistakes. He is also someone willing to go to any extent to protect his family.
A few weeks ago, the makers had also unveiled a character poster for Laya, who plays Uttara, the female lead, an ordinary woman with a deeper criminal instinct, promising a double-layered persona for her character. By the looks of it, the untitled film promises to be a crime thriller with an element of humour. Uttara The film which marks the second venture for Sivaji’s banner, also reunites him with Laya on-screen after 14 years. The two have previously worked together in many popular films like Missamma, Tata Birla Madhyalo Laila and Adirindayya Chandram .
Debutant Sudheer Sriram is the writer and director for the film. The ensemble cast also includes Rohan Roy, Ali, Dhanraj, Prince, Jabardasth Emmanuel, Raj Tirandasu, and Karan among others. The story is co-written by Mithil Kumar and Sudheer Sriram. Gudivaka Shiva Kumar is credited as the co-director. Ranjin Raj is the music director. In the technical team, Balu Manoj D and Rithvik Reddy is the cinematographer.
Sivaji's upcoming projects include Premaku Namaskaram, that is headlined by Shanmukh Jaswanth.
