Earlier this week, Rahul Ramakrishna found himself embroiled in a controversy after a series of his posts on X, about flailing Telangana infrastructure, drew a lot of attention from both social media users and government officials. Soon after, the actor deleted many of his posts, also briefly deactivating his account. On Saturday, Rahul posted a long note, clarifying his stance on the issue.
Taking to his X page, Rahul stated, “What do I know about governance and administration? I’m just a small actor.” Rahul informed that for the past few days, he had been engaged in long conversations with many political leaders, and said that he was misplaced in his anger and frustration about the system in general, adding, “I only wish the best for our land and it’s people, regardless of who runs the system and how.”
Rahul also stated that he has decided to ‘recuse’ himself from ‘Twitter activism’ until he can immerse himself in solving the problems that plague everyone, instead of merely offering critiques. He concluded his note with “Expect only the best possible work on screen from me henceforth.”
Earlier, Rahul Ramakrishna had made a bunch of posts about the infrastructural mishaps in Hyderabad amidst torrential rains. The posts, now deleted, got traction when he tagged BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao and BRS president K. Chandrashekar Rao in separate posts.
In another of his posts made on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanthi, now deleted, Rahul had written, “Gandhi was no saint. He was no Mahatma,” which too received a lot of traction.
On a professional front, Rahul Ramakrishna hasn’t had a major release in some time. The comedian, known for his work in Jathi Ratnalu and Arjun Reddy among many others, was last seen in Gopichand starrer Viswam. Reportedly, he is playing a major role in the upcoming Ram Pothineni starrer Andhra King Taluka, though.
