Hyderabad police have registered a case against actor Dimple Hayathi and her husband Victor David after their domestic help accused the couple of harassment and assault. The FIR, filed at Film Nagar Police Station, follows a complaint lodged by 22-year-old Priyanka Bibar, a native of Rayagada district in Odisha.
According to reports, Priyanka began working at the couple’s residence in Vamsiram’s Westwood Apartment, Shaikpet, on September 22. In her complaint, she alleged that she was subjected to constant verbal abuse, humiliation and even denied proper food while working there. Matters came to a head on September 29, when Priyanka claimed that a dispute escalated into threats and physical assault.
The domestic worker alleged that her clothes were torn during the altercation and that her phone was forcibly snatched and damaged by Victor David when she tried to record the incident. “I narrowly escaped before rushing to the police,” she told officers, as quoted in reports.
This is not the first time the actor and her husband have faced legal trouble. In 2023, the couple made headlines after allegedly damaging the vehicle of IPS officer Rahul Hegde in Hyderabad’s Jubilee Hills. That incident reportedly began when David accidentally hit the officer’s parked car, following which Dimple allegedly kicked the vehicle during an altercation with the driver. A police complaint was lodged then as well.
The current case has been booked under Sections 74, 79, 351(2), and 324(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Investigations are ongoing, and as of now, neither Dimple nor Victor has released an official statement in response to the allegations.
On the work front, Dimple Hayathi made her acting debut with the 2017 Telugu film Gulf. She later appeared in several films across Telugu and Hindi cinema, including Atrangi Re alongside Dhanush, Akshay Kumar and Sara Ali Khan. Her notable Telugu credits include Ramabanam, Khiladi, Gaddalakonda Ganesh, and Eureka. Dimple has been roped in for Sharwanand’s next violent thriller Sharwa 38, to be directed by Sampath Nandi.
