Young actor Roshan, son of veteran actor Srikanth, plays the lead in the sports drama Champion. The film is directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Pradeep Advaitham and jointly produced by Swapna Cinemas, Anandi Art Creations, and Concept Films, with Zee Studios presenting.
The film has been in production for some time, and the makers have already begun promoting it. Roshan’s look and the teaser were released earlier, generating considerable buzz. Now, the makers unveiled Anaswara Rajan’s look, who plays Chandralekha — a strong-willed village belle with dreams far bigger than her surroundings.
She aspires to shine as a drama artist and eventually establish her own troupe. The promo of the first single, 'Gira Gira Gingiraagirey', focuses on Chandralekha and her journey. Anaswara is known to the Tamil and Malayalam audience as she does many films there, now with this Champion she is making her Telugu debut.
Anaswara delivers a compelling performance, making Chandralekha the heart of the film. Her scenes exude charm, ambition, and vivacity, emphasizing the pivotal nature of her character.
The glimpses also hint at the delightful chemistry between Roshan and Anaswara, highlighting their love story as a central, heartwarming layer of Champion.
Music for the film is composed by Mickey J Meyer, with the full lyrical track set to release on November 25. Thota Tharani serves as the production designer, recreating the pre-Independence era with remarkable detail. Champion is scheduled to hit theatres on Christmas, December 25.
