The road to the title reveal event of the SS Rajamouli-Mahesh Babu film, tentatively called SSMB29, is gaining speed, as Priyanka Chopra's character from the film has been revealed. The actor will essay the role of Mandakini from the film.
A poster was also released. It showcased Priyanka's character donning a yellow saree, in the midst of a gun fight. The answer to whether the film will be an action film or a science fiction film is still a question, as recently the character poster of Prithviraj Sukumaran, showed the actor as a quadraplegic antagonist, on a wheelchair equipped with cybernetic arms. Prithviraj will play the role of Kumbha in SSMB29.
Priyanka is making her return to Indian cinema, with SSMB29, after 2019's The Sky is Pink. In The Sky is Pink, the actor portrayed the role of Aditi Chaudhary, whose daughter Aisha suffers from severe combined immunodeficiency and pulmonary fibrosis. The film shows the marriage between Aditi and her husband Niren, through the eyes of Aisha. Farhan Akthar portrayed Niren, with Zaira Wasim, in her final film role, as Aisha.
With SSMB29 Priyanka is making her Telugu debut. On November 15 a grand title reveal event has been planned at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad. Meanwhile, a single from the film, titled 'Globetrotter', composed by MM Keeravani and featuring Shruti Haasan's vocals, was released.
