Yashwanth Pendyala, who rose to fame last year with his performance in Committee Kurrollu, is working on a film titled Kathakali next, where he will share the screen with Brahmaji. The film was officially launched on Saturday at a grand ceremony. Among others, Niharika Konidela was in attendance, present there to give the muhurath clap. Harshith Reddy, who recently appeared in Subham, switched on the camera.

Billed as a new-age crime thriller, Kathakali is directed by Prasanna Kumar Nani and produced by Ravikiran Kalidindi under the banner of Manyata Productions, marking the maiden production venture for them. At the launch event, Niharika stated, “Big congratulations to the Kathakali team. Yashwanth has acted in our films, and I am very happy to be here for the muhurat of his new film. I think Brahmaji garu will give very good support to Yashwanth.” Talking about the film, Yashwanth said later, “There are no heroes in this film. This film has its story as the hero, where the characters drive the plot.”

The makers also unveiled a poster on the occasion, featuring the two lead actors, seemingly cops, standing in the middle of a village as a religious festival unfolds in front of their eyes. The supporting cast of the film includes Madhu Damaraju and Mime Madhu.

In the technical team, Jithin Mohan helms cinematography. Nagendra is the art director, while Pawan is the music composer.

The makers also announced that they plan to commence shooting in June.
