Nandamuri Balakrishna’s classic Aditya 369, which was reported to be released during summer, got its release date recently. The film is re-releasing in 4K on April 4. The makers are even hosting a grand pre-release event during Ugadi. The film is widely regarded as India’s first time-travel film. Directed by the iconic maker Singeetam Srinivasa Rao, the film was originally released in 1991 and achieved immense acclaim for its ahead-of-time story and vision.

Backed by Sivalenka Krishna Prasad under the Sridevi Movies banner, Balakrishna played a dual role in Aditya 369, including the famous historical king Sri Krishna Devaraya. The film stood the test of time and became a classic due to Singeetam’s direction, Jandhyala’s dialogues, Ilaiyaraaja’s music, and the contributions of its ensemble cast and technical team. The film played recently in the Red Lorry Film Festival conducted in Hyderabad.

Recently, Nandamuri Balakrishna announced in his talk show, Unstoppable on Aha, that a sequel for Aditya 369 is in the works with his son, Mokshagna Teja, in the lead role. More details about the project are yet to emerge.
