Uppu Kappurambu, the Suhas-Keerthy Suresh starrer comedy, is gearing up for its straight-to-OTT release on July 4 on Prime Video. A few days ahead of the film’s release, the makers released the soundtrack of the film. Ninnila Ninnila fame Ani IV Sasi is the director for Uppu Kappurambu.
The soundtrack, composed by Sweekar Awasthi, comprises of three distinctly-flavoured numbers. The lyrics for the album are penned by Ravi Krishna Vissapragada, S Attavur Rahim, and Raghuram Dronavajjala.
The title track, sung by Anthony Daasan, carries the madcap and rustic energy of its premise, where a village is caught in an unusually grim yet humorous crisis, running out of burial grounds.
Sung by Sean Roldan, ‘Nomilala’ is an energetic and playful composition. “Nomilala is an anthem for letting go, for dancing through life’s absurdities. The song embraces both chaos and community, something that resonated deeply with me while recording it. There’s cheekiness, but also a sense of resilience that I think a lot of small-town people will connect with,” said Sean Roldan in an official press note.
On the other hand, sung by Anurag Kulkarni, ‘Yaadunaavo’ is a poignant song, minimal in its arrangement yet rousing in its melody. “Yaadunaavo carries the ache of a child missing his mother and the quiet poetry of everyday absence. The song is rooted in pain, but also hope,” said Anurag about the song.
The Uppu Kappurambu soundtrack is released under the Believe India label.
