Manchu Manoj on Thursday took to social media to convey his wishes to the team of Kannappa, the upcoming mythological fantasy epic set to release on June 27.
Manoj’s tweet, posted on X (formerly Twitter), expressed support for the project led by his father, Mohan Babu, but notably omitted the name of his brother, lead actor and producer Manchu Vishnu. He also wished Vishnu's kids positively.
“All the best to Team Kannappa! My dad and his team have poured years of effort and love into this film. I’m praying it roars to blockbuster success. Can’t wait to see my little champs Ari, Vivi, and Avram make memories on the big screen,” Manoj wrote. He also acknowledged veteran actor Tanikella Bharani and expressed gratitude to guest stars Prabhas, Mohanlal, and Akshay Kumar.
The post comes amid long-standing reports of a rift between the Manchu brothers. In earlier incidents, Vishnu accused Manoj of being involved in the stealing of a harddisk related to Kannappa.
Responding to media queries about Manoj’s message during a press meet on Thursday, Vishnu declined to comment and urged that the focus remain on the film.
Kannappa is directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and produced by Mohan Babu under 24 Frames Factory and AVA Entertainments. It features Vishnu in the title role alongside an ensemble cast that includes Prabhas, Mohanlal, Akshay Kumar, Sarath Kumar, and Kajal Aggarwal. The film, based on the tale of a devotee of Lord Shiva, is also written by Vishnu and is slated for a pan-India release on June 27.
